Beya Ablaze is an ambitious first game jam turned interesting proof of concept.  The idea is to create a alchemist protagonist who deals with problems using powders and her trusty lantern.  In this alpha version of our game, Beya utilizes the lantern to provide light via use of butane, and blasts projectiles via use of powder.  We had planned a complex and dangerous alchemy system that would utilize the combinations of powders for different results- we weren't able to reach this vision just yet, but if you search the labyrinth for different powders you still might find some interesting combinations.

These feature limitations had us pivot from a combat based dungeon crawler to a more experimental horror survival game, where Beya will be tested on her ability to exit the lab before running out of butane, else the horrors of the lab find her first.

Come check out our afternoon passion project and share your thoughts!  We had a lot of fun developing this game and are not discounting the possibility of expansion of the idea in the future!
